Traditional Irish Music Workshops
Dates:
Music 1 Sun 28th June - Sat 4th July 2009
Music 2 Sun 26th July - Sat 1st Aug 2009
Music 3 Sat 8th Aug - Fri 14th Aug 2009
The workshops are open to people who play a traditional instrument catering for all instruments, levels and abilities, whether you are a beginner or an accomplished player. Melodic and accompanying instruments are both catered for.
The week begins on Sunday with an evening meal. Workshops take place every morning Monday to Friday. Afternoons are left free to explore the countryside, practise or just relax. Each evening the group goes to a different session in a variety of local pubs.
The week finishes after breakfast on Saturday, however you can stay longer if you wish or leave earlier.
We invite a different musician to come in to teach each day and aim to cover all instruments of those participating in the workshop.
The workshops are very relaxed and friendly. Music is supposed to be fun.
We don't teach instruments from scratch and participants are expected to have a basic understanding of their instrument.
Due to the nature of the Irish music most of the tuition is done by ear, however notes are provided as well. It is recommended to bring a recording device to record the tunes.
