Derrygonnelly Field Centre Is An Outdoor Classroom

The Field Studies Centre is located on the Tir Navar property.  There are

accommodations for 60 people.  There

are also four spacious workrooms, Internet facilities, a drying room, shop, and a laboratory.

An excellent variety of habitats are

within easy reach of the centre including

rocky shores, freshwater, sand dunes,

rivers, bog and heathland, as well as

carboniferous limestone, shale,

intrusive igneous rocks, and glacial

deposits.  There is also the opportunity

to study rural and urban environments.  Check the website

www.field-studies-council.org/derrygonnelly

for “Outdoor Classroom for Ireland.”

    Leisure and professional training courses

are offered to individuals and families and

professionals through the Field Studies

Council.  These courses cover virtually every aspect of learning about the countryside, its wildlife, and its environment.

The Field Studies Council is an environmental education charity committed to helping people understand

and be inspired by the natural world.
