Background:


The Flanagan family are from the Doolin

area and have been running the hostel since 1995.  Gerald Flanagan has a keen interest

in the local music tradition and heritage

of the region.  He is one of the founding members of the Doolin School of Music and actively teaches, plays and organizes traditional music classes in the local area.  He is also

involved in set dancing.  Instruments

that he plays includes the harmonica,

the spoons, and mandolin.

Directions From Lisdoonvarna

From the Square, head west down by the 'Roadside Tavern' and past the 'Burren Smokehouse' on the N67. Follow this road for 0.8 of a mile (1.2km). You will come to a bend in the road with a road off to the right. Take the right over a bridge then take a left. Stay on this road for 2.7 miles (4.3km) until you reach a T-junction with a church on the right. Take a left and we are 0.2 of a mile (0.3km) down this road on the left.

Directions From Doolin Petrol Station and Convenience Store

Head West from the petrol station down the R479 for 1.2 miles (1.9km). You will come to a crossroads with Fitz's Bar and Hotel Doolin on your right hand side. Take a right here. You will pass McGann's Pub on your left and McDermott's Pub on your right. We are 0.6 of a mile (1km) along this road.
