                        gate of the youth hostel, which is

                        half-way between Cahir and

                        Mitchelstown.  The youth hostel

                        is 2km from the road.

Mountain Lodge is a beautiful circular

former shooting lodge owned by Lady

Beatrice Pole Carew and Lady Constance

Butler.  There is a solid fuel stove which

provides central heating to the dorms.
