Directions:    From Castlebar (17 miles)

or Westport (13 miles), follow signs Achill R311 to Newport.  The hostel is

signposted from the bridge in Newport.


History:  Traenlaur Lodge dates from the 1830’s and was originally the fishing lodge of Lord Sligo. 


Open:  June 1-September 30

           closed between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Rooms:    two six-bedded rooms

                two ten-bedded rooms

                total of 32 beds


Rates:   under 18’s:   13 euros

             over 18’s:      16 euros
